Suspence, cliffhangers and spooky description are all common themes this half term. Our book 'Tortured wood' will be taking the children to a dark and mysterious wood, which is definitley not what it seems... We are returning back to History term, delving into the thriving 'Edo Period' of Japan. In Science we are developing our roles as scientists, investigating numerous hypotheses about how everyday materials experience both reversible and irreversible changes. We will be continuing to develop our character muscles further, progressing our indepence, passion for learning and integrity.

Spring 2

Ready to step into a new world?  This half term Y5 are stepping through the wadrobe to explore the magical land of Narnia. We have really been focusing on our ability to retell parts of a story from a characters perspective. In doing this, we have sucessfully created diary entries from the perspective of one of the main characters 'Lucy Pevensie'. In our Geography topic we have been exploring 'Turkey'. We have been comparing the climates and weather, creating detailed line graphs to show this. In maths we have been developing our fraction knowledge and are really starting to increase our fluency in this area.
